About Rebecca
I’m Rebecca.
I’m the photographer behind Cocoon. I’m a mother of two and have called Asheville home for more than ten years. I love the outdoors, the small moments that make up everyday life, and photographs that help families remember how a season felt.
I photograph in English and Spanish, offering gentle direction and room for people to be themselves. I also speak German; that is simply a little part of who I am, rather than a separate service language.

A few practical details.
Where do sessions take place?
I photograph around Asheville and throughout Western North Carolina. We’ll choose a location that fits your family and the kind of photographs you want. Specific travel details will be confirmed before booking.
What should we wear?
Choose clothes that feel comfortable and like you. Once we know the location and season, I can help you think through colors, layers, and how everyone’s outfits work together.
What happens if my child is shy or restless?
That is completely fine. Children do not need to perform for the camera. We can slow down, take a break, move around, or let them observe until they feel ready.
How do newborn sessions work?
Newborn sessions follow the baby’s pace. There is room for feeding, changing, settling, and taking breaks. The focus is on your baby and your family together, not on forcing a pose.
Can we book maternity and newborn together?
Yes. The Maternity + Newborn session includes one maternity session and one newborn session, planned together as your family changes.
Do you photograph in Spanish?
Yes. Rebecca communicates in English and Spanish, and the site is available in both languages.
Can pets be included in family sessions?
We can discuss what fits best. A family session that includes pets may be a Family Story, while a Pet Story is designed to focus more closely on the pets themselves.
What kind of gear do you use?
Rebecca uses a Sony mirrorless system and a variety of lenses. She especially loves a 90 mm macro lens for portraits and uses flash when needed, depending on the lighting conditions.
How quickly will we receive our gallery?
The final delivery timeline will be confirmed in the package details before booking.
